Maya Tricamo Pinz is a fine artist, muralist, and illustrator born in Saint Louis, Missouri, based in Columbus, Ohio. Working across fine and public art, she merges expressive, traditional portraiture with symbolic imagery and bold, simplified graphic forms. Her work plays with absence and presence, choosing to emphasize specific elements through realism while pushing other elements to the background as simplified silhouettes. Traditional painting techniques, printmaking, and digital illustration work together to build layered, saturated, and intricate designs. This interplay creates a trademark visual contrast that allows Maya to explore the contemporary and the classical through her mediums of choice.

In both her studio and public art practices, Maya creates images that invite personal interpretation and dialogue; often exploring themes of identity, memory, vulnerability, and the impact of personal experience. Whether working with a canvas or a large-scale wall, Maya approaches each project as an opportunity to build a visual world, allowing viewers to make connections and bring their own experiences into the work.
